WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a Japanese word that essentially means "universal life force energy".  "Rei" = Universal "ki" for energy. Reiki is a type of energy healing that is used to restore harmony in the mind, body and spirit. By using gentle touch or no touch or remotely, the energy in your body will be balanced, thereby creating healing. It is completely safe for anyone to receive. The only prerequisite is the desire and will to be healed, and for physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing.

Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900's. It is a great complementary alternative therapy for Eastern and Western medicine too. The Usui System is a way of working with reiki for healing of self and others. The word healing is used in the sense of regaining harmony and wholeness. Usui Shiki Ryoho addresses the whole person on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels and those that we cannot identify at the present. Usui Shiki Ryoho as having four Aspects: Healing Practice (self treatment or a form of treatment to treat others), Personal Development (choices a practitioner learns that address the underlying principles), Spiritual Discipline (the connection to spirit that practitioners consider as a spiritual path) and Mystic Order (sense of connection and common purpose with others). The Aspects accompany a central core of practice and philosophy referred to as the Nine Elements. The combination of all the Elements and Aspects and their inter-relationships creates the system which has a proven, predictable capacity to take people along a profound path of healing, growth and spiritual deepening. If any part is changed or left out, the form is no longer recognized and is considered to be another form of Reiki practice.

Reiki treatments can be done in-person and also from a distance. It is all about working in an energetic field. Just like we may need an Internet connection to do our jobs without having to go to office, a Reiki practitioner needs a connection to Universal Energy.

Reiki treatments start with a conversation to assess, and once the problem is traced to the roots, we focus on healing the specific area or areas. Reiki practitioner will act as a conduit between you and the source of the universal life force energy. The energy flows through the practitioner's hands to you.

HOW IT WORKS

Reiki is healing with energy that helps remove blockages in our body and assists in energy flow at cellular level. And of course, this is a 'No Touch' process. Reiki practitioners use the palm healing technique through energy.

All living things are infused with energy. As species, we have been fascinated by this energy and the power it has over the being. The energy goes by mane names such as chi, prana, mana, ruach and soul. From the time we are conceived, this energy permeates our bodies. Science has confirmed the presences of this energy as well. With this discipline, many disciplines have been developed to balance and develop this energy. Reiki, Qigong, Tai Chi, Meditation, Yoga and Feng Shui are just a few of the many ways individuals can enhance the flow of this energy. What sets Reiki apart from the other forms of touch therapy are the attunements that the practitioner receives. These attunements open the channels in an individual so they are in direct contact with the universal life force. After the attunement, these channels are open forever. Besides being a tool for Physical healing, Reiki works for our mental and spiritual growth as well. When a practitioner is performing a healing session, the energy that emanates from their hands produces a significantly larger bio-magnetic reading (7 - 10 Hz) than a non-practitioner. Reiki practitioners hands carry the energetic vibrations of the recipients wellness. These higher frequencies activate and energize cells for physical well being. It also works on subconscious mind at the same time leading to relaxation, lower stress, anxiety and fear. A TYPICAL REIKI SESSION

A Reiki treatment session can be given in person or remotely (distance healing). A Reiki session begins with a conversation to discuss what you would like to heal from, it is from the past, present, or fears that you may have about the future. It's the perfect time for you to open up as much as possible for you to experience the most benefits of healing. 

At the right time, for evaluation, you will go through a body scan of your energy field (through a photo if distance). This will help me determine which area or areas within your body need the most focus. Different Reiki tools and hand positions are applied to bring the energy levels back into balance. Reiki differs from other touch therapies in that there is no pressure, massage or manipulation involved. Clients leave feeling lighter, more relaxed, and more peaceful. You may experience the energy in the form of sensations like heat, tingling or pulsing where the Reiki practitioner has given the healing. Sometimes, people feel sensations moving throughout the body, while other people do not perceive any change at all.”

APPOINTMENT PROCEDURE

For New clients, it is recommended to go through at least 3-5 session for Reiki healing to be effective. The first session would usually be on assessing and setting focus on the future treatments.
